Jose Nateras is a PhD Student in Theater and Performance Studies at UCLA as well as an L.A. based Actor, Writer, and Filmmaker from Chicago. A graduate of Loyola University Chicago, he also has his MFA in Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

In addition to an extensive career on stage, Jose has appeared on ABC's Promised Land, Showtime's The Chi, NBC's Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D., Fox's Proven Innocent, and elsewhere.

 

A scholar, screenwriter and playwright, Jose has served as a contributor for The A.V. Club, and more. His debut novel, TESTAMENT, was released by Ninestar Press and his original feature length screenplay, Zero Feet Away was included on 2021's 'Bloodlist' and is currently in development.

 

His debut feature the Horror/Comedy, Departing Seniors (starring Primo's Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, The Lizzie McGuire Movie's Yani Gellman,  Ireon Roach from Candyman,  Chicago Med's Lorena Diaz, et al) had its world premiere at Fright Fest UK, in London and its domestic premiere at the Chicago International Film Festival. After a festival run, Departing Seniors had a limited theatrical release before arriving online. It is currently streaming on Tubi and is also available in the UK via Arrow Player under the alternate title,  Killer Graduation.
